Family Gone Healthy.

My wife and I are big on eating healthy and knowing where our food comes from. For a few years, we ran a food blog called Family Gone Healthy where we shared recipes, tips and other information about the food we eat. Although we have since stopped the blog, I’ve very proud of the food photography I worked on during the 2 years we ran the blog.

WEBSITE

Although it’s not one of my favorite designs, the FGH site was huge! Managing the site and the hundreds of blog posts was a logistical challenge. We used heat mapping to track the most visited links and I continued to make changes to help the site grow even further. Google Analytics was incredibly helpful in this process.

FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY & INFOGRAPHICS

A huge part of any blog is the catchy images that can be shared on social media sites. Instagram and Pinterest are especially important for a food blog. A few nights every week I would cook one of our recipes and take food photography of those dishes for the blog. Although it was a lot of work, the end results were worth it.

REAL FOOD GROCERY GUIDE

As an incentive to get people to sign up for our newsletter, I decided to create a multi-page grocery guide that people could download for free once they’d signed up. This combined most of what my wife and I had learned over our years of research on food and was a ton of fun to create. Full of helpful infographics and tips it was extremely popular for our site.
