Welcome to the Donald Damon Johncour Foundation website

This site was created to honor and remember Damon who was called home to Christ after a brief illness on February 23, 2018 at the young age of 51. Damon is survived by his wife Cindy (McManes) Johncour, their three children Donald Payton, Garrett Gregory, and Alaina Paige Johncour.

In 2003 Damon became the founder and owner of North Carolina Orthotics and Prosthetics, Inc. He quickly became a well-known fixture in the medical community. He helped thousands of people regain their mobility and functionality. Everyone who knew Damon immediately references his big heart. He always wanted everyone to feel included and never met a stranger. He had a way of making people feel they were family the first time he met them.  Damon is described as a gentle yet boisterous man. His amazing love for life inspired him to live each day to the fullest. He was often described as “larger-than-life” and brought smiles to everyone who knew him.

This foundation, started by his brother Duke and Damon’s immediate family was created to raise money for the Damon Johncour Foundation. This funds goal is to provide an annual education scholarship for a student in the field of Orthotics and Prosthetics.

The majority of monies raised will come from the annual golf tournament to take place at Hasentree Country Club in Wake Forest, North Carolina. Damon had many talents and golf was one of his favorites. He was a founding member of the Hasentree Country Club. History will also note that Damon Johncour had the very first “hole-in-one” at Hasentree. (On hole #6) “You’ve been Johncoured,” was a favorite saying among the golfers at Hasentree, to describe his many come back wins. Damon spent many happy and fun-filled hours golfing, cooking for, and being with his golf buddies gained at Hasentree.

Please view the Tournament page and consider participating each year in this great event. Thank you in advance for your consideration or participating in this special event. Each year Damon is smiling down upon us as we remember him and prepare to raise money for a prospective student in the field of Orthotics and Prosthetics.

The foundation only asks you achieve two goals each year during the tournament – Be generous and Have a great time.

Thank you,
Duke Johncour
